Are you concerned about your eating behaviour and feel it is beyond
your control? If yes, then it’s time to come and talk about it and do
something about it.
Begin to make changes
I work with all sorts of people who have all kinds of issues around food:
- You may be restricting your diet and not eating enough.
- You may be overeating or binge eating.
- You may only eat certain types of food or have some eating behaviours that get in the way of eating with others or in public.
Together we can start to make sense
of the way you use food
You may or may not have a “diagnosable” “eating disorder”, but if you are worried about your health and how your relationship with food is impacting your life, let’s talk about it. Together we can start to make sense of the way you use food so that you can begin to make changes.
In our work together we have
several tools in our toolkit.
You don’t have to figure this out on your own; make an initial appointment to come and meet me to find out more about how we can work together.
Transactional Analysis
The first is Transactional Analysis (TA). Using TA together, we can not only get to understand how you are feeling and behaving around food but also explore the reasons why.
Acceptance &
Commitment Therapy
We will also use ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). ACT is an active form of therapy. It takes its name from one of its core messages; accept what is out of your control and commit to taking action that enriches your life. It’s about us working as a team when we look at your issues around food.
Understanding Your Eating
Programme
In addition to TA and ACT, I’m also a Licenced Practitioner of the Understanding Your Eating Programme (UYE). If you are aware that your overeating eating is driven by emotions rather than by hunger, then UYE is for you.
