Outdoors or Online!

I’ve been walking with clients for a few years now. I began in Manchester City Centre, finding quiet spots amongst the hustle and bustle of the city. I now walk with people in various green parks around Manchester and Cheshire.

It’s a very important part of my practice, and I’m passionate about the benefits of walking and talking.

I would love to pass on what I’ve learned from many walks with clients so you can make walk and talk a part of your practice, too.

What are the benefits of taking your practice outdoors?

Benefits

  • You get to move!!
  • Being outdoors provides both therapist and client a screen break and an opportunity to move.
  • It can be helpful for some clients to be side-by-side walking with you rather than making full eye contact across a therapy room.
  • It can provide grounding and stabilisation through movement and offers an opportunity to process painful emotions while moving the body.
  • As we walk, we get a boost of endorphins and feel-good chemicals
  • Nature provides a natural grounding experience.
  • Clients often report feeling less claustrophobic and having more space to breathe, think and feel in outdoor spaces.

Is Walk and Talk Therapy right for your practice?

Why not take a listen to a podcast I did with Jane Travis from Grow Your Private Practice, all about Walk and Talk Therapy?

Getting trained couldn’t be simpler.

Just get in touch, and we can get you started!

I look forward to hearing from you!
